Pearls, Always
Pearls were part of my earliest memories. My grandmother wore them, and as a child I would always notice how beautiful she looked in them. She was always feminine and chic, but never in a way that felt studied. She simply had it. And in my mind, they became part of a kind of womanhood I admired from very early on; elegant, confident, soft, and strong all at once.
As I grew up, I kept seeing them everywhere. In old photographs, in fashion images, and on women whose style stayed with me for reasons I could not always explain. Pearls have long been associated with elegance and femininity, but what I have always loved most is that they never belong to only one kind of style.
Later, I began borrowing pearl necklaces from my grandmother and my mother. Some were classic, with perfectly round pearls and a certain simplicity. Others had colorful stones or details that shifted the mood entirely and gave them a different spirit. I loved that contrast. They could be worn in a very classic way, or take on a more personal or playful expression, without losing their identity.
That feeling has stayed with me, and it is one of the reasons pearls are at the heart of omè.
When I design, I often return to them instinctively. I am drawn to their softness, their glow, and the quiet character they bring to a piece. I especially love pearls that are a little more cream-toned rather than bright white. That warmer, more natural look has always felt especially beautiful to me.
In our collections, that often comes through in different ways. Some pieces feel very classic, clean, and easy to wear. Others take on a different mood through color, shape, or the materials they are paired with. This range has always felt natural to omè, and true to the way pearls have lived in my mind for so long.
As the world of omè continues to grow through fine jewelry, diamonds, and gems, pearls never feel far from it. They return in new ways, never quite the same, but never entirely different.
